At First Methodist, we call our offering “Giving Back to God.” We know that all belongs to Him and we are just stewards. We give because we love God and want to see His Kingdom expanded and our community served. Our church offers several ways for you to financially support the church. Regardless of which method of giving you choose, your generosity provides the resources needed to make disciples of Jesus and pursue our vision of growing families and blessing our community.
“Then the people rejoiced because they had offered so willingly, for they made their offering to the Lord with a whole heart...” 1 Corinthians 29:9
Giving online is a convenient way to give each month. You can use it for both one-time gifts and for automatically recurring gifts. The church will charge your checking account or debit/credit card and simply transfer your gift to the church account.
To set up a recurring or one-time donation and to view your contribution history, follow these steps:
- Create an account using your email address and password.
- Provide contact and bank or credit/debit card information.
- Indicate the amount, frequency (recurring or one-time), and designation for your gift.
Giving on Sunday
Gifts of cash and checks can be placed in the offering basket during the Giving Back to God portion of our Sunday service. If submitting cash, include your complete name and address with your contribution. Please write legibly. This is the only way that we can match you with your donation and provide you with a complete receipt for your income tax purposes.
Giving by Mail
Checks can be mailed to the church to:
First United Methodist Church
800 E. Main St.
Humble, TX 77338
Because the church is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your gift will qualify as a charitable contribution and is tax deductible. Donating directly to the church avoids any capital gains tax. A gift of stock can be set up through the accounting office. A planned gift to Humble Methodist can be made through a gift of life insurance or as a bequest in your will or trust.
Employer Gift Matching Programs
Many companies will match charitable gifts, meaning that your gift will count even more. Check with your employer if you think this option applies to you.
