The Gathering PlaceJune 25, 2018
To provide respite relief for the Caregiver of patients with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s and to create a Christian environment for the needs of our friends.
Meeting every 4th Monday of the month.
Located in The Fellowship Hall.
What is The Gathering Place?
The Gathering Place is a partnership of First Methodist Humble and Interfaith Care Partners providing a program of respite care to caregivers while providing fellowship to their care partners. Care partners participate in a variety of activities to stimulate the minds, socialize with new friends and fellowship with all. Caregivers may use this time for respite or may choose to participate in the programmed activities with their care partner.
Typical meeting structure:
- Music and Singing
- Arts and Crafts Project
- Discussion of the meeting's theme
- Light Lunch
How can you become a participant of “The Gathering Place”? Call the church to arrange an interview and/or visit. After the necessary information is received, and reviewed, the care-giver and care partner are invited to attend “The Gathering Place” together for their first meeting.
Do you have the gift of listening, walking along side of others, and have available 1 day a month? Pray about being a volunteer at The Gathering Place. For every one and a half guest a volunteer is needed. At this time we have a waiting list of guests that would like to participate in The Gathering Place program. Join our team so we can make this possible.
